Beautiful pics of Tamara Day and Sarah Stiles feet & legs
I was a gruelling 12 hour days sanding floors and tear down wallpaper one child strapped on my back and the others climbing in the playpen. Ha! All was beginning to fall into place, but there was still a long way to go. To furnish the home, it was going to take a lot of effort in terms of budget and time. I would also have to go out and shop for my most-loved items. To keep the budget in check, I started going to estate sales with my three sons to find gems hidden in the dirt. Every week, we would stroll through estate sales and garage sales on Fridays and Saturdays buying a mixture of new and old pieces. Then I would spend working on my projects on our front lawn. The look was similar to it... This is when my interest in restoration of furniture started. Even after our house was furnished I couldn't put it down! There was an area on the market to sell things. There were so many pieces I didn't know what to do and outgrew the space. At home, I would host open houses where more than 1000 guests could visit to purchase anything they wanted from the first floor within a single weekend. Growing Days was created in this house. In addition to my thriving company, I also started our family. I was balancing the demands of what it was like starting a business while also being a mommy. Growing Days seemed like the best fit. My sweet Nora was born in 2013, which was our fourth baby. Though I was content with the direction my business took, I felt like I needed to take a little break. I took a break from creating vintage furniture and also slowed my pace and stayed at home to take care of the kids. It was exactly what I needed at that moment. After a few minutes the phone started getting busy. There were calls from people asking me to assist them in interior decor and home renovations. Most of these people were people who had been through my house during open houses for furniture! As I went along I added new clients to my list one by one. But it wasn't long before I managed several clients, and had a profitable home improvement business. There is a good chance that I'd have laughed had I had been told that the company was to become the premise of an upcoming television show in the DIY Network. Actually I still kind of smile when I think about it.
