Arike Ogunbowale

Arike ogunbowale (born on April 2, 1985) is an American professional basket ball player. She is a player for the Dallas Wings and the Women's National Basketball Association. She played in the NCAA basketball tournament with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. The Wings drafted her with the fifth pick of the 2019 WNBA. Arike Ogunbowale is a Milwaukee Wisconsin native born to Yolanda Ogunbowale. Mario Ogunbowale (26) and Dare Ogunbowale(20) are two of her siblings. As the youngest of her siblings she was the most spoiled one by her parents. Gregory was a Nigerian Army officer for a length of duration. Ogunbowale is from a family that has ties to the sporting world. Her mother Yolanda was a softball player at DePaul as was her brother Dare used to be an athlete in football. The aunt she played with was a volleyball player for UAPB as well as Endia is a volleyball player on the team at Tennessee State. Ogunbowale was on the list of honors at her high school three times in a row. Apart from her fame, she has received various awards from her studies. Arike graduated from Divine Savior Holy Angels High School located in her hometown. Her academics were followed by three years of play the varsity. Ogunbowale led her school to stunning victories with her exceptional skills multiple times. With 73 high school starts during her professional career, Ogunbowale scores 1,477 points and 739 rebound. Ogunbowale was crowned gold at the 2013 FIBA Americas U16 Championships and 2014 FIBA U17 World Championships, and the 2013 FIBA 3x3 U18 Championships. In July of 2014 she was picked to be a member of the USA Youth Olympic Women's Basketball Team. Ogunbowale is also a part of the ACC All-Freshman Team, after her debut season at a college.
